On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…our checks with state police in Kane, Coudersport, Emporium and Ridgway turned up an all was quiet. There were no related incidences to report either.
Criminal mischief yesterday in Shinglehouse is being investigated by state police in Coudersprot after someone damaged a Dodge Ram owned by Steven Hathaway Jr. of Allegany NY as it was parked along High Street in Shinglehouse. Hathaway told trooper someone scratched the rear tailgate, in addition to denting both driver’s side doors. Those with additional information are asked to contact state police.
Burglary between February 6th and yesterday is being investigated by Kane PSP after someone apparently broke into several camps off of West Valley Road in Norwich Township. Those having additional information are asked to contact state police.
Criminal mischief between the 25th and 27th in Shippen Township was investigated by Emporium PSP after someone hit a mailbox owned by Jean McWilliams of Emporium. No further details are available.
An investigation continues into the harassment of an Emporium woman on Wednesday or Thursday after someone tied a dead bird in a tree beside her residence.
Disorderly conduct and harassment at Moose Field in Liberty Township left a Port Allegany man in trouble after Roland Amell apparently harassed the Port Allegany High School coaching staff during a recent baseball game. Amell was arrested and arraigned before being jailed.
Two Austin residents were the victims of a reported theft which occurred Tuesday at Emporium Specialties in Austin. Coudersport based state police tell us someone took money and personal items from the purses of the victims, Megan Fry and Diana Munsell. Those with additional information are asked to contact state police in Coudersport.
Possession of a controlled substance by a known male is being investigated by Coudersport PSP after the man had several controlled substances seized from his property by Children and Youth Services on Tuesday. The investigation continues.
Harassment by a Shinglehouse man toward another Shinglehouse man left James Quinn, 26, in trouble with Coudersport PSP after he followed Matthew Simpson to the Simpson residents.
And harassment by a Shinglehouse man toward his mother on Monday left Matthew Louser, 19, charged with harassment after he was involved in a verbal argument when he shoved the victim.
The current and former owners of McCormack Ambulance are suing each other over apparent lack of payment. Supposedly, Brian Gustafson, the current owner is being sued for his failure to make payments. Gustafson is also counter-suing for what is described as Bill McCormack destroying Gustafson’s business.
An incident last evening brought out the ambulance to FCI-McKean around 8:00pm after someone was apparently stabbed in the neck. Last evening’s stabbing is the second within a week, according to the Bradford Era. A medium security facility, FCI-McKean is located in Lafayette Township.
In an attempt to being business to the Port Allegany area, Portage Development Group is asking for cooperation from Port Allegany officials in having services extended out Route 155, South. Should all go as planned, the Group hopes to bring good paying jobs to the Port Allegany area. Randy Hobbs, owner of the recycling facility on Route 155, has proven record and a payroll to prove that business in the area can thrive. Hobbs began in 1998 by starting up RecycALL…now bringing in excess of 30,000 tons of glass last year.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…Kane based state police tell us a Virginia man was moderately injured in an accident along Route 66, south of Kane yesterday afternoon. Bryan Dawson, 39, was operating a 2006 Toyota Tundra when he was distracted while drinking coffee. His truck left the roadway where it struck two trees and a stump before overturning. Dawson was taken to Kane Community Hospital for treatment and charged by state police.
Harassment in Abbott Township, Potter County Wednesday is being investigated by state police from Coudersport after a known juvenile from Gaines telephoned a known female from Galeton around 7:50am. The juvenile, according to the report issued, left an obscene message on her answering machine. No further details were released.
Criminal mischief to a Genesee woman’s car Tuesday is being investigated by Coudersport based state police after someone shattered the rear window of Kathleen Smoker’s vehicle as it was parked along Morely Road.
Simple assault against a 24 year old Sinnamahoning man occurred Tuesday in Emporium as a known male assaulted Chad Delp at a West 4th Street apartment around 8:30pm. Delp was taken by ambulance to elk Regional for treatment of his injuries. The investigation continues by Emporium based state police.
Criminal attempt by an unknown person or persons possibly based in Ontario, Canada occurred on Monday or Tuesday in Ulysses Township as a known female received a scam by mail stating she had won a large amount of money. Coudersport state police tell us they have forwarded the information on to the US Postal Inspection Service for further action.
And the scattering of rubbish 2 miles south of Whitney Creek Road in Hebron Township on Monday occurred around 10:30am as several bags of garbage were dumped on property owned by Vivian Spoon. The investigation continues. Anyone with information can contact Coudersport based state police.
An accidental fire on North East Street in Coudersport brought out 20 firefighters Tuesday evening around 9:45pm. $40,000 to $50,000 in damage was sustained to the home owned by Jill Fish. Fish and her caretaker, Gayle Fish were both taken to a hospital by ambulance with Jill Fish still in the hospital as of last evening. Firefighters were on scene for approximately 11:45pm.
Senator Joe Scarnati will hold a Medicare Part D program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Tuesday from 8:00am to 1:00pm in Fisher Hall. To register, seniors can phone Scarnati’s office and register with Anne Albright at 1-800-222-9190.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…two Genesee residents received minor injuries following an accident along Route 449, at State Line One Stop last evening. Coudersport based state police tell WQRM Lawrence Thompson, 32, was operating a 1995 Ford Mustang southbound when he lost control and slid into a metal sign. Following the accident Thompson and his passenger, Chasity Button, 29, both fled the scene to a friend’s home. Charges are being filed for DUI.
Burglary between Friday and Monday at Woodland Elementary School is being investigated by Emporium troopers after someone entered the school and caused damage. A theft also occurred according to state police who continue their investigation.
Criminal mischief at a Bay Village, OH man’s camp in Gardeau Road in Shippen township was investigated by state police from Emporium after someone used an unknown object to damage the camp’s front door.
Brian Warwick, 46, of Sabinsville was the victim of a reported theft being investigated by Coudersport troopers. Someone removed a digital scout game trail camera from Warwick’s property between the 19th and the 26th. Those with further information are asked to contact state police.
And criminal mischief at Morgan AM&T in Coudersport is being investigated by state police there after someone damaged a florescent light at the plant. Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact state police.
Little information is available, however two people were apparently injured at International Waxes in Farmers Valley yesterday. An employee with the company stated that the incident is still being investigated by the plant and at least one employee was sent to ECMC in Buffalo by helicopter where they were treated and released.
A fire we reported on in Bradford yesterday has officials investigating baffled as there was apparently no gas or electric to the dwelling at the time of the fire. The fire at the home, owned by Bradford City firefighter Mike Scrivo, is being looked into by a state police fire marshall.
And the Port Allegany School board has expected to move forward with plans to replace the 20 plus year old elementary school roof. Go-ahead was given by Superintendent Tony flint during Monday’s meeting. Over $1 million will likely be spent on the built up roof, with funds to be used locally as this project does not fall under the guidelines of using Plancon funds.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet according to our checks with state police in Kane, Coudersport, Ridgway and Emporium. There were no related incidences to report either.
Coudersport based state police have charged a Woodside, NY man for his involvement with a juvenile from Oswayo Valley. Walter Escobar-Vega, 28, has been charged for having inappropriate contact with the 15 year old female after an incident the week of the 12th.Escobar-Vega paid a taxi to drive him from Queens to Pennsylvania to meet the teen.
Flames at a Bradford home have been put out for the second time this year. Around 10:00pm last evening a Bradford City policeman found flames coming from the East Avenue home. A fire at the home in January was ruled electrical in nature according to the Bradford Era. About 12 firefighters were on the scene of yesterday’s blaze. The home is owned by Bradford City firefighter, Paul Berg.
And a special board meeting is being held by the Kane School Board at 6:30pm April 11th. The meeting, being held in Mount Jewett, is to discuss "problems with a teacher", according to board member Richard Coleman, who spoke with School District Superintendent Sandra Chlopecki. Details and the name of the teacher were not released. Reportedly, no criminal charges exist toward this said teacher or other staff member in the district.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…A hit and run along Keystone Road in Horton Township this morning left a Brockport woman with unknown injuries. State police from Ridgway state that Jennifer Williams, 24, was traveling north when she lost control of her 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, sending it into some shrubbery and a wooden fence before she fled the scene. State police later found Williams and are charging her with the hit and run, not driving at a safe speed and other violations.
A St. Marys woman, 29 year old Kiran Thimmagowda, died in an accident along Route 255, just south of Hickory Street in Jay Township yesterday morning around 6:00am. The driver was operating a 2002 Nissan Xterra when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason after crossing both lanes of travel. The vehicle crossed a yard before impacting a tree. A passenger, 27 year old Adam Berasi of Force was moderately injured. Those with further information about this accident are asked to contact Ridgway PSP at 776-6136.
A Port Allegany teen received minor injuries after an accident in which he was the operator on Sunday. Chad Hadden, 18, was traveling south on Bells Run Road at an unsafe speed when he failed to negotioate a left curve, sending his 1997 Saturn off the east side and into a tree. Hadden and his 2 passengers, James Crow, 36, and a 16 year old female were all wearing seatbelts. Hadden and the 16 year old were taken to Olean General for their minor injuries, while Crow was flown to E.C.M.C. Charges were filed.
A Johnsonburg woman was apparently DUI while operating a vehicle in the boro there on Saturday. Suzanne Zimmerman, 33, was stopped by state police for a traffic violation when she was found to by under the influence. Charges were filed.
An unknown person was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Sedan owned by Donald Hirschfeld Jr of Warren on Saturday. Kane troopers tell WQRM the unknown person was traveling west on Route 59 when the Chevy left the north side of the roadway, striking a culvert, going airborne and then continuing west before hitting a ditch and rolling several times. The driver was apparently injured, but fled by unknown means. Those with further information are asked to contact Kane PSP.
Criminal mischief at the Housler residence in Emporium on Friday or Saturday is being investigated by state police there after someone damaged a mailbox owned by John Housler. Those with details are asked to contact Emporium troopers.
A 20 year old Coudersport man was not injured in an accident Friday evening. State police there tell WQRM Brett Troutman was operating a 1996 Ford Truck. Failing to maintain control of his 1996 Ford Truck, the vehicle left the west side of North Hollow Road, down an embankment, coming to rest a short distance later.
Amelia Steis, 21, of Ridgway told state police there that someone broke the passenger side window of her Dodge Neon on Sunday around 3:45am. Anyone with further details are asked to contact state police.
Deborah Martinelli of Coudersport told state police there that someone entered her vehicle Saturday. Those involved also scratched the driver’s side window and the hood of the vehicle. Anyone with further details is asked to contact troopers.
A Dubois man has been charged for his involvement in an incident in Shinglehouse Friday where he reportedly tried for force a girl to have sex. Derrick Young was arraigned, with bail set at $5,000.00. Unable to post bail, Young was sent to the Potter County jail.
And Craig Clark of Coudersport told state police there that some time between December 1st of last year and Thursday of last week, someone cut down several small trees on his property along Dingman Run Road. Those with further information are asked to contact state police.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a 3 vehicle accident along Route 219 yesterday afternoon was investigated by Ridgway based state police. The accident occurred just after 4:00pm as Kelly Stoner, 24, of Mercersburg was traveling north. Stoner stopped suddenly to make a left turn. Laurie Jones was traveling behind Stoner in a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer when she applied her brakes. Kenneth Pilon of Ontario, Canada was following the Jones vehicle. He too applied he brakes but drove into the east shoulder to avoid a collision. Pilon’s Ford Tractor Trailer hit the rear of the Jones 2001 Chevrolet Blazer, causing disabling damage. While Jones hit the Stoner 2006 Dodge Charger, also causing disabling damage. No injuries were reported by the 3 drivers. The Jones and Stoner vehicles were towed from the scene according to state police.
Coudersport based state police tell us they have a large chainsaw which was found along Mill Road in Bingham Township yesterday. The owner can call the barracks and describe to claim.
Theft by unlawful taking between the 1st and Wednesday of this week is being investigated by Coudersport troopers after someone stole about 25 road signs throughout Harrison Township. The signs were ATV and snowmobile in nature. Those with details are asked to contact state police.
And harassment against a Ulysses man is being investigated by Coudersport based state police after someone placed several explicit magazines in the mailbox of Ammon Miller.

Burglary in Ulysses left a Mount Joy man arrested for the incident which occurred a year ago along Downey Road. State police tell WQRM Herbert Parmer, 54, reportedly took 2 Polaris ATVs and a bear rug belonging to Mark Binkley of Conestoga. Charges were filed by Coudersport based state police for theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and burglary.
Terrorist threats by a known person in under investigation by Ridgway PSP after a known person allegedly shot at the home of Robert Steele of Brockport. No further details are available.
Criminal mischief in Keating Township at the baseball field along Fairgrounds Road was investigated by Kane PSP earlier this week. Charges will be filed against three juveniles for their involvement in the breaking of a shed’s wooden door in addition to throwing rocks at buildings. An ATV was also used to damage the ball field.
Burglary at a Ridgway woman’s home in the 5th left 2 known Ridgway men arrested for the incident where Joseph Harvey and Paul Solomon removed a safe from the home of Margaret Buhler. Both men were placed in the Elk County jail in lieu of bail.
And Herbert Parmer was charged after he made false reports to state police regarding the burglary he was involved in, in Ulysses. Parmer was arrested in New York.
In a vote of 1,151 to 96, the dissolving of the Village of Wellsville was defeated by those that turned up to vote Tuesday. The next step for applying for city status by the village.
Tuesday’s Olean School Board meeting saw a vote of 6 to 3 in favor of closing the North Hill Elementary school, while a vote of 7 to 2 was received in favor of forming a task force to determine the feasibility of 4 versus 3 elementary schools. The construction of a new elementary school was also discussed.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…according to our checks with state police in Kane, Coudersport, Emporium and Ridgway, all was quiet. There were no related incidences to report either.
A Genesee man has been charged by Coudersport based state police for his role in the altering of documents for a vehicle. Stephen Smisl, 54, was charged with altering, forging or counterfeiting documents and plates along with various traffic violations. Smisl was released on unsecure bail of $2,500.00.
Simple assault by an Emporium man against a woman from Emporium on Tuesday was investigated by state police there. Kevin Kephart, 42, reportedly grabbed the victim, Nancy Kephart, 35, by the throat and face causing visible injury to the victim. The accused was arragined and then sent to the Elk conuty jail in lieu of $5,000.00 bail.
A hit and run by a known person on Monday was investigated by Coudersport based state police after the individual damaged a 60 foot section of guard rail along Route 449 in Ulysses Township. Evidence at the scene linked a known person to the scene of the accident, according to state police. Those with further details are asked to contact Coudersport PSP.
The investigation into an accident along Route 120, just east of Route 155 in Shippen Township continues by Emporium PSP following an accident Tuesday afternoon. James Hornung of Emporium was operating a 2005 Chrylster 300M when he lost control, sending the vehicle into a culvert. No injuries to Hornung or his passenger, Ronald Vail also from Emporium were reported.
Criminal mischief along Gardeau Road in Austin is being investigated by Kane troopers after someone smashed the mailbox of Lanty Phillips. Those with further details can contact state police in Kane.
Two Driftwood residents were arrested for their involvement in a simple assault incident Sunday. Emporium based state police tell WQRM Jeff Smeal and Melinda Sherry were cited for the domestic violence incident on Chestnut Street in the borough. Bail was set at $5,000.00 per person.
The death of an Ohio man and his son last fall has been determined to be a murder/suicide. Columbus residents John V. Ash and his son, Nickolas John Ash were found in early September at a camp in Lafayette Township. The father reportedly stayed at the camp during visits to his son. According to John Pavlock, McKean County DA, the investigation has now been closed.
And the future of Mount Jewett’s Elementary School is uncertain following a board meeting Tuesday. Upon the closing of the school, the 64 students would be bussed to Kane’s Chestnut Elementary. The next scheduled school board meeting is set for April 11th at 7:30 at the Mount Jewett School.

A Bradford woman was stopped Sunday morning along Route 6 in Roulette by Coudersport based state police. Julie Ann Vecellio, 39, was stopped for traffic violations around 2:30am when it was determined she was also DUI. Charges were filed.
DUI by a Bradford man in Bradford was investigated by Kane PSP Saturday as Bruce McCormick, 39, was stopped for traffic violations at the intersection of South Avenue and Elm. A strong scent of alcohol was detected by troopers, at which time th4e suspect was taken to the hospital for a BAC test. Charges were filed.
Criminal mischief Saturday in Coudersport left a 15 year old Coudersport resident cited by state police there for using a blunt object to punch holes in a wall and door at the home of Donald Wagman.
A Galeton man was taken to Charles Cole after an accident along Route 144, south of Germania Borough, Abbott Township on Saturday. Coudersport based state police state that Dean Traub, 49, was traveling north when his 1995 Ford F-250 left the roadway and struck a tree.
The investigation into a theft in Weedville continues by Ridgway PSP after a known 26 year old and a known 27 year old, both Penfield residents, rented a DVD and Play
Station game, failing to return the items to Delullo’s Market in Weedville.And 11 known males were involved in the smashing of mailboxes and car windows, in addition to other incidences in the Lewis Run area between September 2005 and earlier this month. No further details were released.
An Export woman’s camp in Ridgway Township was illegally entered between July 16th of last year and yesterday. Ridgway PSP tell us someone gained entry by unknown means. Nothing was reportedly taken. Those with further details are asked to contact state police in Ridgway at 776-6136.
Representative Martin Causer has announced that the LIHEAP application deadline has been expended until April 14th. Pennsylvania has also increased the amount awarded for crisis grants from $300 to $600. For more information you can contact the Cameron, McKean or Potter County Assistance Office.
Coudersport teen Christopher Ruter, 19, who was incarcerated in the Potter County jail when he was taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Saturday died as the result of an apparent suicide. Potter County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury stated that Ruter’s death was ruled a suicide following an autopsy in Erie over the weekend. Dusenbury assisted in the investigation conducted by Coudersport Borough Police.
A 9th grade Oswayo Girl didn’t return after school late last week, beginning a search by PA state police. The 15 year old, who according to reports had sex with 28 year old Queens resident Walter Danilo Escobar-Vega, was found outside a motel in Olean after she was tracked by her cell phone calls. The two apparently met online over a year ago.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…A Port Allegany man was traveling Route 155 yesterday morning when he lost control of his 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Coudersport based state police tell us Sam Sherwood, 19, was traveling 155, just north of Route 607 in Keating Township when his car hit the snow covered roadway, crossed the center line and impacted a ditch on the west side. Sherwood’s car then impacted a drain pipe and came to rest. Sherwood was not injured in the accident.
A Saint Mars man has been arrested for DUI and a hit and run yesterday in Fox Township. Robert Tilberg III was traveling north in a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu when his car left the roadway while rounding a curve along Coal Hollow Road, striking shrubbery on private property. Tiberg then fled to the Dagus Mines area where he was found by state police.
Underage consumption by 10 persons yesterday morning in the Highland Township area of Route 948 was investigated by Ridgway PSP. Eight teens and two twenty year olds were arrested, with charges filed.
DUI by a Ridgway man along Shawmut Road in Horton Township Saturday was investigated by Ridgway troopers when they stopped David Pfingstler, 18. Pfingstler was subsequently arrested.
Ridgway based state police tell WQRM a 19 year old from Ridgway was charged for DUI Sunday morning. Richard Bowers, 19, was traveling Forestry road 237 when he parked his vehicle behind a police cruiser. The investigating officer found Bowers to be DUI. He was transported to Elk Regional where he was given a BAC Test.
Kane troopers responded to an accident along Route 6 on Saturday. Rodney Mosher, 34, of Eldred was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle on Brooklynside Road. His vehicle traveled into a ditch where it rolled onto its roof. Mosher was not injured.
Kane based state police responded to an accident Saturday night after a Lewis Run man was involved in an accident along Route 770. William Brooks III was westbound in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. While negotiating a right turn, Brooks lost control of his vehicle, sending it off the south berm and into two trees where it came to rest. Brooks was treated at the scene before being taken by chopper to Altoona.
DUI Saturday got a Ridgway man in trouble with troopers there after Christopher Cenni, 22 was stopped after driving through a red light in Ridgway Borough early in the morning. Cenni then fled at the sound of the trooper’s lights and siren, running several stop signs and traveling at a high rate of speed before eventually coming to a stop. Charges for DUI, fleeing and eluding troopers and several other traffic offense were filed.
Kane based state police are continuing their investigation into a reported incident Sunday where Catherine Burns, 45, reportedly threatened her husband, William, with his life. The investigation into the early morning call continues by Kane PSP.
Criminal mischief at an Eldred man’s home Sunday is under investigation. Kane based state police tell WQRM someone drove through the yard of Ronald Gross of West Eldred Road sometime around 3:00am.
Burglary at a Brockport man’s home remains under investigation after someone reportedly entered the home Mark Snelick by forcing their way into the home and leaving with a Mossberg 12 gauge pump gun, a Stag horn sheath knife and about $100.00 in quarters. Ridgway state police are investigating.
A Ridgway woman is being charged with harassment after an incident Saturday in Highland Township. Autumn Sidelinger, 21 reportedly assaulted Nicole Cleaver, 22, of Ridgway, punching the victim.
A Bradford man has been charged with public drunkenness after being seen walking along Route 646 in Otto Township, near the New York state line. Howard Powers, 47, was cited by Kane troopers for the incident Saturday evening.
Criminal mischief by a known 15 year old Friday in under investigation by Ridgway troopers after the teen caused around $3,000.00 in damage to two ATVs owned by a known 15 year old and Kersey resident Steven Smith.
A Ulysses woman told Coudersport based state police that some time on the 6th someone placed several pornographic magazines in her mailbox. No further details are available and the investigation continues.
And burglary on February 23rd in Ulysses is under investigation by state police in Coudersport after someone forced their way into an unoccupied apartment owned by Richard Anthony of Lawrenceville. Several dozen firefighters responded to a Port Allegany couples home along Campbell Hollow last evening. The call went out around 6:30pm to the home of Darren and Julie Barnett. On the scene, firefighters found fire in a single room, where the blaze was contained. Four fire companies were on the scene for about an hour. No injuries were reported.
A Coudersport teen reportedly died in the Potter County jail Saturday. Christopher Ruter, 19, was incarcerated when he was taken to Charles Cole. No further details are available at this time.
And a Ridgway woman died as the result of an accident involving three vehicles in Mifflin County. Allison Caimi, 22, was a passenger in a car operated by Stephanie Lent, 22, of Fairlawn, NJ. Lent’s vehicle went out of control for no apparent reason, hitting the median, traveling onto the westbound lane and into the path of a tractor-trailer operated by John Couch, 25, of Huntington. Lent’s vehicle then spun into the path of another tractor-trailer driven by Fred Grenninger, 44, of Huntington. Caimi was pronounced dead at the scene, while Caimi was taken by helicopter to Danville Hospital. No further details are available on Lent’s condition.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a Kersey teen was not injured in an accident along Route 948, 1/10 of a mile north of Oak Road in Fox Township. Joshua Longhi, 19, was operating a 1999 Kia Sephia Sedan northbound when he failed to see a 2005 Ford Ranger stopped behind a stopped school bus. Longhi was unable to stop in time, sliding approximately 24 feet before striking the rear of Robert Wonderly’s truck. Wonderly’s Ranger then traveled about 10 feet before being stopped. Charges are pending against Longhi by Ridgway troopers.
And untaxed cigarettes got a known female in trouble with Kane PSP after they stopped the individual along Route 219 in Hamlin Township just before midnight yesterday. The investigation continues.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a one vehicle accident along Route 155, 2/10 mile north of the Gardeau Road in Portage Township was investigated by Emporium troopers. Emporium resident Troy Shupe, 32 was traveling Route 155 around 7:00pm when his 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier struck a deer entering the roadway. Shupe was not injured, a
ccording to state police.Burglary in Cameron County between the 7th and the 12th is under investigation by Emporium PSP after someone drove through a cable gate on property owned by James Alderson of Canonsburg. Those involved then entered the camp by forcing open a window. Its unclear at this time if any items are missing. Those involved then went to a camp owned by Pittsburgh’s Kenneth Heinsel, also driving through is cable gate. Forcible entry into his camp was not successful by those involved.
Harassment was investigated by state police from Emporium on Saturday after Alicia Reickerd and Kevin Collins were involved in a physical confrontation. Both individuals were subsequently cited.
Criminal mischief on Monday is being investigated by Emporium troopers after someone damaged a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer owned by Derrick Gribble of Emporium by striking the same with a brick.
And Coudersport based state police are asking for the publics help in locating those involved in a burglary at the home of Tracy Hostetlar of Austin. This incident occurred between February 1st and yesterday.
Route 219 bypass work set to begin yesterday has been delayed by inclement weather, according to those involved. The start is now scheduled for Monday of next week. Yesterday’s plans included line painting, which is dependant on weather conditions.
Senator Joe Scarnati of Brockway will host a College Fair March 23rd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Ridgway High School gymnasium. Over three dozen college, university and other educational facility representatives will be on hand. Two break-out sessions will also be part of the evening, one being held at 5:30 and the other at 7:00pm.
The resignation of an Eldred Borough employee was accepted by council during their Tuesday meeting. Mark Shuey resigned his unnamed position with the borough. A replacement is being sought and applications will be accepted until 4:00pm March 28th.
And Nextel has expanded service into much of our listening area, with service now available in Coudersport, Emporium, Smethport, Kane and Bradford. We also confirmed that service to Port Allegany is set to be available in the near future.

On the traffic and accident scene over night and yesterday…Kane based state police responded to a 2 vehicle accident along Route 219, 2 miles south of Route 6 in Sergeant Township around 3:00pm. The report issued states that Wayne Mann, 35, of Johnsonburg was traveling south in a 1990 Mercury Cougar. While playing with his car radio he crossed the center line, striking a 2004 Chevrolet van operated by Dale Litzinger, 45, of Ebensburg. Mann was cited for failure to stay in his own lane.
A Warren man was not injured in an accident along Route 948, 2/10 mile north of Ogrins Road in Highland Township. Michael Stapleford, 39, was operating a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 in a northerly direction, according to Ridgway PSP. Stapleford’s truck hit an ice covered area of Route 948, sending his truck into a spin before it crossed the southbound lane, slid off the roadway and rolled over. Stapleford was cited by state police for not driving at a safe speed.
Criminal mischief at the Wal-mart in St. Marys by an unknown person was investigated by state police in Ridgway recently after Brenda Yonkie, 48, of Brockport told troopers someone damage her 2001 Chevrolet Tracker, using a sharp object to scratch the paint. Those with information about this incident are asked to contact state police.
And theft by unlawful taking between the 9th and Monday of this week is under investigation by Coudersport troopers after someone removed a 16x20 inch metal sign located on property owned by Aldora Clark of Ulysses. Those with further details can contact Coudersport based state police.
A Bradford based car dealership owner is being charged in connection with lack of vehicle registration payments. Philip C. Bauschard, owner of Bauschard Dodge, was arraigned yesterday on over 60 counts including unprofessional conduct and failure to pay loans on traded automobiles at his Seaward Avenue business, along with his resale store formerly located on Water Street in Smethport. Charges were filed by PSP on complaints filed over a year-long period beginning in late 2004. Meanwhile, Bauschard’s attorney, Robert Saunders, stated that Bauschard Dodge is in the process of being old to a larger dealership. However, he would not mention the buyer by name.
And a meeting for the operations committee of the Moving Wall coming to Smethport later this year will now be held March 22nd at 6:00pm at the American Legion in Smethport. The next meeting for all committees for the Moving Wall will be held April 5th at 6:30pm.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…an accident on Skyline Drive this morning was responded to by Ridgway troopers, around 12:30. Carrie Barraclough, 29, of Dubois was traveling east in a 1997 Toyota when her vehicle left the south side of Skyline Drive and struck a utility pole owned by Alltel. Barraclough was cited for careless driving.
Harassment yesterday in Ulysses was responded to by Coudersport troopers after an Altoona man phoned a Ulysses woman. Dale Young, 54, was cited in the incident.
Fire of undetermined origin on Monday left a garage owned by a Kane man with $80,000 in damages. Kane troopers tell us the garage owned by Daniel Shields’ of Kane caught fire around 2:00pm, damaging a parked truck which was outside the garage.
A one vehicle fatal crash along Route 44 claimed the life of a Shinglehouse man Sunday evening. Kane troopers tell WQRM Victor Querry, 57, was traveling north when his 2001 Dodge Truck drifted off the roadway and on to the east berm where it struck a utility pole. The truck then entered a ditch and impacted an embankment on Powerhouse Road. At that time, the Querry truck became airborne, crossed Powerhouse Road and impacted a ditch on the north side before rolling onto its roof and coming to rest. Querry was transported to Olean General where he was pronounced dead.
A hit and run on Sunday in Horton Township, Elk County was investigated by Ridgway troopers after someone struck a mailbox post, damaging several mailboxes belonging to two Brockport men.
Criminal mischief on Saturday or Sunday left the rear window of a vehicle owned by Erick Swackhammer broken, as his 2000 Chevrolet S10 sat in the parking lot of the Valley Grill in Jay Township. Those involved also removed the vehicles right wiper blade.
Criminal mischief on the 11th or 12th on Four Points Road in Fox Township is under investigation. Ridgway troopers state that someone broke the post for a mailbox owned by Carl Mcaninch of Weedville. Those with more information are asked to contact state police.
The investigation into a reported incident of arson at a Bradford location continues by Kane based state police after fire broke out at a 2-story wood structure owned by Stephanie Cramer. No injuries were reported.
And A known female made several calls to William Courson of Brockport, according to Ridgway based state police who are investigating.
A unanimous vote by the Port Allegany School Board during their Monday meeting set the ball rolling toward the expansion of the elementary school. And the IU9’s budget was okayed by the board, with Port Allegany contributing nearly $30,000.
In Smethport School district news, the board hired Christie Splain as their new Elementary School Principal, effective July 1st. Splain is currently an employee of the Port Allegany School District.
And the Otto-Eldred School Board okayed the IU9 budget for 2006-2007 with their share being just over $15,600.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…DUI by a James City man was investigated by Kane based state police Saturday evening. Roy Edinger, 39, was stopped for speeding, when a strong scent of alcohol was detected. Sobriety tests were conducted and the accused was arrest.
DUI by a Roulette man along Lanniger Creek Road on Friday evening left Ronald Moore Jr., 24, charged for DUI, driving with after privileges were suspended, operated an unregistered vehicle, careless driving, and various other offenses. All charges are pending against Moore through the Shinglehouse District Justice.
A PFA order by a Coudersport man was ignored by the same on Friday, according to Coudersprot based state police who investigated. David Roberts, 32, was jailed after ignoring the order against Tammy Roberts of Coudersport. Unsecure bail was set at $1,000 and the accused was released with a hearing to be scheduled later.
Criminal trespass by a Weedville man was investigated Saturday by Ridgway PSP. David Rung, 32, was arrested for trespassing on property owned and posted by Daniel Stulpin of Canton, OH.
The investigation into the breaking of a window in a Pontiac Grand Am owned by Meghan Smail of Wilcox continues by Ridgway troopers after the incident on Friday or Saturday. Those with details are asked to contact Ridgway PSP.
A lap-top computer theft from the Greentree Landfill in Kersey is under investigation. Ridgway based state police tell us the incident occurred on Thursday or Friday of last week. Those with details are asked to contact state police or Elk County Crimestoppers.
A Genesee man was injured in an accident on March 2nd, according to Coudersport based state police. Todd Wright, 34, was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when his vehicle left the north side of Route 244, crossed the oncoming lane and impacted an embankment. The vehicle eventually came to rest. Charges are pending for DUI, Driving while privileges are suspended, driving at a safe speed, careless driving and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.
An Emporium man has been charged in connection with a theft on the 1st or 2nd in Emporium. State police there tell WQRM Timmy Gentzyl, 47, was charged with burglary, theft, receiving and possession of a controlled substance. Gentzyl was jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
And a Pequea man told Coudersport state police that someone took approximately 2 cord of firewood from his seasonal residence along Peet Brook Road. The incident took place between June of last year and February 1st. Those with further details on this incident are asked to contact state police in Coudersport.
A residence on Congress Street in Bradford, formerly occupied by Stephanie Cramer, was damaged by fire Saturday morning. The investigation continues by the state police fire marshall after the fire broke out at the home around 7:30am. Fire personnel were on the scene until just before 10:00am, according to reports.
And a new traffic pattern will be in effect for the Route 219 Bradford Bypass as crews from Mascaro Contracting work on Route 219 North. The traffic pattern change begins Wednesday and continues until further notice. On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…A Brockway woman was cited after she was involved in an accident along Shawmut Road in Horton Township, Elk County. Ridgway based state police investigated the incident where Jacquiline Ehrgott, 38, had been traveling s
outh, when she lost control of her vehicle, sending it into a utility pole after it exited Shawmut Road on the west side. The vehicle then struck a tree before Ehrgott left the scene. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.A two vehicle accident along Route 66, near Jo-Jo Road in Wetmore Township left two area residents uninjured according to Kane based state police. They tell us they responded just before noon yesterday. Jeffrey Sweitzer of Kane was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting to make a left hand turn onto Jo-Jo Road, when Mary Rotar of James City failed to see that Schweitzer had stopped. Rotar subsequently struck the rear of the Schweitzer 1967 Chrylser New Yorker with her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier.
Simple assault Wednesday in Ulysses was investigated by state police from Coudersport, according to our checks with them. They responded near a private residence along Academy Street in Ulysses after Kimberly Sheets and John Sheets, both Ulysses residents had been arguing. The Accused John Sheets, apparently struck the victim with a closed fist several times, leaving Kimberly Sheets with minor injuries, for which she was treated at Charles Cole. Charges were filed, with a bail hearing to be set at a later time.
Criminal mischief Wednesday left an Oswayo man charged after Coudersport troopers found that Michael Cadwell, 41, had cut down a black cherry tree on posted property belonging to John Levavasasseur of Coudersport Borough.

A high school student at Otto-Eldred High School was found to be in possession of a controlled substance Tuesday. Kane based state police tell WQRM the student was found with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered that the student had stolen items from Seneca Highlands AVTS in Port Allegany. Charges are pending.
A Sigel, PA man was not injured in an accident Saturday along SR3002, just east of Marienville in Elk County. Timothy Finucan, 48, was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, when he reached for an item, while his vehicle exited the roadway and struck a concrete culvert. Finucan was cited by Ridgway PSP for careless driving.
Indecent assault by a known person on the 25th of last month is under investigation. Coudersport troopers tell WQRM the known person had inappropriate contact with a 5 and 7 year old male.
And a 30 foot chain was removed from property owned by Richard McCaigue of Dutch Hill Road in Coudersport. The investigation into the missing chain continues by Coudersport PSP.
Chief Operating Officer Ron Cooper of Adelphia met with the Coudersport workforce recently. He spoke on the past year’s performance, the pending sale to Time Warner and Comcast and the increase in services ordered by customers. 425 employees in the Advanced Products Customer Care Center are assured on their job’s future, while many others are still up in the air. A closing date for the sale of the bankrupt company is set for the end of June.
And a Port Allegany man was sent to the count jail after allegedly dropping the infant son of Jamie Pearsall, also of Port Allegany on February 24th. Darien Dunsing, 29, was reportedly watching Pearsall’s son when the baby was dropped down a set of steps at a residence Dunsing and Pearsall shared. Dunsing was sent to the county jail on straight bail of $30,000 with a preliminary hearing set for next Friday. The baby was eventually flighted from Charles Cole to Geisinger in Danville, where no further details on the baby’s condition were released.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet according to our checks with state police in Coudersport, Emporium, Ridgway and Kane. There were no related incidences to report either.
Coudersport based state police continue their investigation into goods taken after falling from a Mount Jewett man’s truck near Close’s Lumber Company in Roulette. Michael Haynes, of Mount Jewett, told state police that he had purchased eight pieces of oak baseboard, six pieces of outside trim and one sheet of wood paneling. Those items fell from the Hanyes’ vehicle as he entered Route 6. Once Haynes realized the items were missing and returned, he found someone loading lost of the items into a white box style truck. Only the wood paneling remained. Those with further details can contact state police in Coudersport.
A two vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 555 and SR 2004 in Benezette Township was responded to by Ridgway state police Tuesday afternoon. Reports state that Leah Swackhammer, 47, of Benezette was traveling east on 555, while Kenneth Beck of Byrnedale was traveling east in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. While Beck attempted a left turn onto SR2004, Swackhammer pulled into the path of the Beck vehicle, when she was hit near the left front side of her 1991 Oldsmobile Ciera. No injuries were reported by either driver or their passengers.
Criminal mischief and trespassing on Saturday was investigated by Ridgway troopers after someone entered Robert Beck’s posted property along Route 255 in Jay Township, Elk County. Those involved reportedly broke 4 windows in a van on the Beck property during the incident.
A Genesee man has been charged with bad check writing after Shane Pounds, 22, wrote a check to West Pike Motor Lodge on the 13th on a closed account. Coudersport troopers investigated.
The previously mentioned accused was also cited for bad check writing in December as Shane Pounds wrote a check to Kosa’s Kountry Store in Ulysses.

While there’s no word on Bradford Regional Airport’s future carrier, an agreement was signed recently by County Commissioners and others involved to hand over property in the area of the airport to the PA Army National Guard, at a price of $5.7 million for the future armory. Groundbreaking may be as early as late April or early May.
A fire we reported on yesterday along the Barnum Road in Eldred Township reportedly killed a family dog, while destroying the home, owned by the Haynes family. Estimated damage in the early morning fire is around $45,000. Seven departments rolled to the call, bringing in 60 to 70 firefighters until around 9:00am. The investigation by the state police fire marshall continues.
A Bradford bar is being cited following a raid for failure to carry a liquor license. Marsh’s Bar on Washington Street was entered by officers in early December of 2004. Beer was ordered and paid for by the officers. September of last year state police received confirmation that the establishment did not have authorization to sell alcoholic beverages. Just over a year ago the bar was again entered by officers. The bar was raided and alcohol and several hundred dollars was seized. Kenneth Marsh, owner gave up his chance for a preliminary hearing and was released on his own recognizance.
And legislation presented by Representative Martin Causer of Turtlepoint has passed one hurdle on its way to seeing a bridge in nearby Potter County named after a soldier from Coudersport, who was killed while serving a year ago in Iraq. Mike Franklin, 22, is the son of Coudersport’s Bill and Tina Franklin. Causer’s legislation now moves onto the Senate for consideration in having the bridge over the Allegheny River named in honor of U.S. Army Specialist Michael Franklin.

On the traffic and accident scene over night and yesterday…Emporium based state police tell us an Austin man was not injured in an accident along Route 120, 1/10 of a mile east of the Borough there. Peter Dynda was operating a 1997 Hyundai when he backed out of GKN Plant one and into the path of a 20000 Chrysler driven by Emporium’s Susan Hoy, who was also not injured. No charges were apparently filed.
A crash in Allegany Township brought out Coudersport based state police just before 8:00am yesterday. Jessica Ransom, 18, of Bingham Township, Potter County was operating a 1995 Chrysler Sebring 1 mile south of Rag Hill Road when she lost control while traveling north on Route 449. Her car skidded out of control and across the southbound lane, striking a bank before going airborne and landing on the right rear wheel, leaving the car inoperable. Ransom was not injured, according to state police.
Terroristic threats against a known juvenile and an Austin woman by an Austin man occurred last Friday, according to Coudersport based state police. Clarence Pritt, 60, was arrested on charges of terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Pritt was arraigned and released on unsecure bail, with a hearing to be scheduled at a alter date.
And Ebeling’s Bus Garage in Shinglehouse was the victim of an act of criminal mischief between Christmas Eve day of last year and January 17th of this year. Someone reportedly poured water into a school bus owned by the garage. The water froze, causing around $2,500 in damages. Those with further details are asked to contact state police in Coudersport.
According to reports, smoke could be seen by many as they traveled Route 46 yesterday afternoon. Rew Volunteer Fire Department rolled to the fire around 3:00pm, to find that several tanks on a hillside in the Farmers Valley area had caught fire. The investigation into the cause continues and suspicious activity is not considered at this time. The tanks are owned by a Texas firm. Rew Fire Chief Mike Burgoon stated that the fire actually began in a tank battery, containing oil. Several pieces of equipment in the area were a loss as a result.
In Smethport Borough Council news…discussions took place during Monday’s meeting relating to the change of having a local authority set electric rates, versus using filing requests with the PUC. Other items discussed were that of changing the traffic lights in town from incandescent to LEDs, saving as much as $3,000. And clean-up week in Smethport was set for the week of May 15th. As was the case last year, $30.00 will be charged to those who have items to dispose of and no air conditioners or refrigerators will be collected.
Kindergarten sign-ups for Smethport will be held March 16th. Children must be 5 on or before September 1st. When attending the sign-up, you should have your child’s registration packet which can be obtained at the school, immunizations records, birth certificate, social security card along with your child.

A Roulette man was cited for harassment following an incident last evening at Johnson’s Trailer Park in Roulette. Robert Bruce, 42, was cited along with Anne Mosher, 50, of Coudersport. State police from Coudersport state that Bruce subjected Mosher and April Stuckey of Roulette to unwanted physical contact last evening.
Criminal mischief in Coudersport was investigated recently after an incident where Tamitha Agen’s car was egged. No further details are available.
Burglary at the Margaret Buhler residence in Ridgway Township on Sunday is under investigation according to Ridgway state police. Someone stole a container of precious metals, jewelry and cash. Estimated value is $200,000. Those with information are asked to contact state police or Elk county Crimestoppers.
Theft from a Volkswagon owned by Debra Martinelli of Shinglehouse is under investigation by state police from Coudersport after someone stole 5 small Cats Meow model houses along with damaging the victims car’s wheel. Damage and loss is around $580.00.
Harassment at the Dexter residence in Shinglehouse residence on Saturday left the resident in trouble. Coudersport troopers tell WQRM Christopher Dexter, 25, is being investigated after Angela Laurich, 21, of Cuba, NY told state police that Dexter threatened her when she stopped to pick up her daughter.
Theft in Roulette on Thursday was investigated by Coudersport state police after someone took prescription medicine belonging to Scott Rockwell. Damage was also sustained to a lamp in the Rockwell home during the incident.
Burglary on Meadow Road in Shippen Township is under investigation. Emporium troopers state that someone removed various personal items from the home of Steven Gentzyel.
An emporium woman has been cited for trespassing and harassment by phone after Kay Baker phoned Fred Garber of Sinnemahoning on the 6th and 7th of January, along with entering his property.
And Jason Stine, 28, currently jailed in the Potter County jail, has been cited for attempted rape of a female juvenile in the summer of 2004. Stine is behind bars for a similar incident according to state police.
Emporium Borough has join with Pennsylvania to purchase rock salt for the winter. Doing so will save Emporium approximately $10.00. bids for street paving for 6 streets this spring were also opened. Review by PennDOT will need to be done before anything can proceed.

On the traffic accident scene over the past weekend…an accident Saturday along Glen Hazel Road left a St. Marys man with severe injuries, according to Ridgway PSP who responded around 8:30pm. Russell Reider, 23, was traveling south in a 1990 GMC pick-up when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway. His truck began to skid before going airborne and hitting a utility pole. After shearing the pole, the Reider truck then rolled several times, ejecting Reider. The operator was taken to elk Regional before being flown to UPMC. The investigation continues.
A Galeton man told Coudersport PSP recently that some time on Thursday an unknown woman phoned Charles Bock, telling him he was eligible to receive $1,000 for medications and $1,000 in coupons, if he gave his credit card number. No information was giving by the victim.
And criminal mischief near the Two Mile Road stone quarry between February 1st and the 20th is under investigation as someone damaged a black banding cart owned by David Marcy of Warren. Those with details are asked to contact state police in Kane.
Martin Causer, State Representative for the 67th Legislative District has announced he will be running for a third term. One of Causer’s goals for his next term is to secure better employment opportunities for his constituents.
ABC Supply of Wisconsin has grown by one, with the purchase of Olean’s Erie Builder’s Supply. Ten days from today the name will change to ABC Supply, according to the new Branch Manager and former EBS owner Fran Tripodi. A sale, according to Tripodi, will begin today, with clearance of electrical,, plumbing and other items. ABC’s emphasis will be on roofing, windows, doors and siding, in addition to other items. An expansion into the St. Marys area is also planned to attract new customers, including contractors and do-it-yourselfers.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…several accident occurred throughout our listening area as a result of slippery roads from additional snowfall.
An 18 year old Kersey man was not injured as the result of an accident along the old Kersey Road. According to Ridgway troopers, Justin Bennett was operating a 1997 ford Sedan northbound, when the unit slid on an ice patch and into the path of Timothy Kilhopffer who was operating a 2002 Ford E-350 in the southbound lane. Bennett was cited for the crash according to PSP.
A one vehicle accident along Route 219 in Horton Township yesterday afternoon was responded to by Ridgway troopers after john Newman, 37, of Wilcox was involved in an accident. Reports state that Horton was traveling north when he lost control of his 2005 Ford F-150. It spun clockwise, struck the guiderail on the east side of 219, traveled 670 feet and came to rest. Horton received no injuries.
And a one vehicle accident along Route 321 in Jones Township left a Kane woman with minor injuries. Ridgway troopers tell WQRM Shayna Nelson, 18, was operating a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan SE south when she lost control on the slushy roadway. The can came to rest after spinning clockwise, crossed the center line and hit an embankment. Two passengers in the van received minor injuries while two others were not wearing seatbelts and received moderate injuries. Nelson was cited for the accident according to troopers.
According to our checks with Kane state police, a Kane woman received no injuries during an accident yesterday afternoon. The crash occurred as Susan Chamberlain, 45, was traveling west on Route 6 when she lost control of her 1995 Buick LeSabre. The car left Route 6 on the south side, impacting a tree. Her husband, Robert Chamberlain, 42 was also not injured. The investigation continues.
Burglary at a Coudersport man’s camp is under investigation by state police there. Samuel Glassmire told troopers someone entered his camp on Back road, east of Southwoods Road in Homer Township sometime between February 18th and Thursday of this week. Those with further information are asked to contact state police.
And criminal mischief along Big Shanty Road in Lafayette Township is under investigation by Kane troopers after someone smashed mailboxes owned by four persons. Those with details can call troopers in Kane.
A log skidder fire we reported on Tuesday was determined to by a case of arson according to Ridgway based state police. The skidder is owned by Michael Merritt of Kersey.
A vehicle theft occurred in Elk County Wednesday or yesterday, according to Ridgway troopers who investigated. They state that someone took a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer owned by Dennis Swanson, with a PA registration plate of FCG7661. No further details were released.
Theft of a cell phone on Wednesday is under investigation. St. Marys’ Alan Caskey told troopers from the Ridgway barracks that someone took his cell phone while he was at the Last Chance Inn in Kersey. The phone was later returned. Those with details about this incident can contact state police at 776-6136.
And someone set fire to a blazer owned by Edward Swanson of Kane on the 1st or 2nd. Ridgway troopers tell WQRM damage is estimated at $10,000. Those with details are asked to contact state police or Elk County Crimestoppers.
A third person was arrested in the killing of a New York State cop in Big Flatts. Suspected in a bank robbery in that area, the shootout that followed killed Officer Andrew Sperr. Governor George Pataki has called again for the death penalty for those convicted in the killing of an officer.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…charges are pending against a Sinnemahoning woman for an accident along Route 120, 5 miles east of Emporium yesterday morning. Emporium troopers tell us Alma Lae Puro, 80, was traveling Route 120 in a 1999 Ford Windstar when she lost control of the van before it impacted a utility pole. The investigation continues.
A two vehicle accident just after 8:00am yesterday was responded to by Kane troopers. Sara Miller, 19, of Kane and Michael Housler, 54, of Eldred were both southbound on Route 219 when Housler attempted to turn his 1999 International Tractor Trailer right onto an access road. Miller was traveling along the right side of Housler when Housler attempted a wide right turn, only to hit Miller’s car. Both vehicles eventually came to rest. Only Miller received minor injury.
Burglary at Bennett’s Valley Pharmacy in Weedville on Wednesday left a St. Marys man jailed. David Krise, 23, reportedly broke into the pharmacy, removing cash, drugs and other items.
Harassment near the Kersey Post Office on Tuesday is under investigation by the Ridgway barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police. Several known persons, according to reports, a known 16 year old female was subjected to unwanted contact. Those involved then fled. Those with further details are asked to contact state police.
Judy Cornell, 59, of Ulysses told Coudersport based state police Tuesday that someone called, asking for her credit card numbers to verify they were current. The caller was also very short when Cornells asked questions. Those with details about such calls are asked to contact state police.
The Austin Masonic Fellowship was the site of a reported act of criminal mischief as someone broke several solar powered light fixtures. Anyone with details about this incident is asked to contact Coudersport troopers.
And several persons were cited for not obeying school zone signage after Kane based state police conducted a school zone enforcement stint Wednesday. Future school zone enforcement details are planned, according to state police.
A proposal was presented to the Town of Allegany committee earlier this week, as Steve Feldman, owner of Byllye Lanes in Bradford wants to construct a bowling alley in Allegany, NY. Feldman purchased the alley in Bradford in 2001, making improvements to the facility since the purchase.
A state police troopers from the Bog Flats, NY area was shot during the investigation of an armed robbery of a bank in that area. No further details are available as to the identity of the officer. However, troopers did say they are searching for a 1997 model Ford Taurus with New York plates. The unnamed trooper was the 23rd killed in the line of duty since 1917 when the force was started.

Theft from the Joseph Keneske residence on Long Level Road in Johnsonburg occurred between the 24th and 28th of last month. No further details are available according to Ridgway based state police.
A hit and run between February 24th and the 27th in Elk County is under investigation. Someone hit the right rear bumper of a 2003 Chrylser 300M owned by Arnold Pritt of Kersey as it was parked between Fox Township and the City of St. Marys. Those with information are asked to contact state police.
And theft from Kevin Major’s truck occurred in Cameron County as someone removed 3 hub caps from his 83 Chevrolet ½ ton. Emporium troopers tell WQRM those involved then fled.
A Dubois man received minor injuries and was charged with numerous traffic violations following an accident Monday. Emporium troopers state that Joshua Klaiber, 20, was traveling west on Route 555 when his 2003 Dodge Dakota left the roadway, entered a filed, continued west, went over a culvert and impacted a ditch. Klaiber’s truck then rolled once and came to rest.
Criminal mischief on the 24th or 25th of February occurred along Rich Valley Road in Shippen Township, Cameron County. State police state that someone ran through the yard of Rexford Waddington with their vehicle.
And bad check writing at State Line One Stop in Genesee occurred December 22nd according to Coudersport authorities. Shane Pounds, 22, of Genesee wrote a check for $25.52. Coudersport PSP state that a letter requesting the check be made good was never acknowledged. Charges were filed.
The Coroner’s office in McKean County is looking for a deceased man’s family. Seventy nine year old Arthur Huntly passed away in February of natural causes leaving no details as to his next of kin. Huntly was under the care of The Guidance Center, passing away in BRMC. Those with further details about Mr. Huntly are asked to contact McKean County Coroner Cahill.
