On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a 2 vehicle accident yesterday afternoon was investigated by Kane troopers after the incident occurred around 1:00pm.  According to  Kane PSP, James Findlay of Warren was stopped at the intersection of Route 59 and 219 on Route 59 traveling west in a 2000 Dodge Intrepid.  Brenda Heverley of Moravaria, NY was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Van south on Route 219.  Findlay pulled into the intersection when his vehicle was struck by Heverley, spinning the Findlay vehicle clockwise before it came to rest on Route 219.  Heverley’s vehicle also came to rest on Route 219.  Findlay was charged with failure to stop or yield.  And only Ronald Briggs, a passenger in the Findlay vehicle, received minor injuries.

Four homes on Kennedy Street in Bradford were a loss on Thursday.  Kane based state police are investigating the fires which destroyed homes owned by Debra Miczo of Emporium.  According to state police, the fire began at 170 Kennedy Street, causing a total of $400,000 in damage.  Those with information on this incident are asked to contact Kane based state police at 778-5555.

A one vehicle accident Monday along Route 120, 1 mile east of Sterling Run in Gibson township was responded to by Emporium troopers around 10:30am.  Betty Ellenburger, 75, of Driftwood was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu west when she fell asleep at the wheel, sending her car across both lanes of travel and into a dirt culvert before descending an embankment and partially landing in a swamp.  Ellenburger received minor injuries as a result.

Harassment at the Ellenburger residence on Beldin Drive in Driftwood on Sunday left Dave Ellenburger charged with harassment after a verbal argument with his wife, Monica.

Disorderly conduct on Sunday in Emporium was investigated by state police.  It was determined that William Putt, 37, and Valerie Beck, 41, both residents of Emporium had a verbal argument when obscene language was used and too much noise was caused.  Both were charged.

And 26 year old George Singer Jr. of Emporium has been charged with burglary for his involvement in a theft at the Pit Stop Garage on Route 155, Emporium on June 29th.  Singer was placed in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a two vehicle accident this morning along Route 255 was responded to by Ridgway based state police around 5:00am .  According to their report, Daniel Sidelinger, 35, of Penfield was operating a 1989 Dodge Colt north when he struck an object on the roadway, causing him to veer into the southbound lane where he sideswiped a 1994 Mazda MX3 driven by Timothy Billington, 30, of Ontario , Canada .  Both drivers escaped injury.

Coudersport based state police tell us they responded to a collision last evening along Fishing Creek Road in Roulette Township .  Around 8:30pm Raymond Austin, 20, of Port Allegany was operating a 1994 Saturn sedan when he lost control of the car, sending it 222 feet before hitting a spring house located to the west of a pond along Atkins Road.  Austin escaped injury as did his passenger, 22 year old Tracy Liloer also of Port Allegany.

Simple assault last evening in Eldred was investigated by Kane PSP after Timothy Comilla of Bradford reportedly was involved in a domestic dispute with Jessica Sheffenhaggen of Eldred.  Comilla was charged with disorderly conduct, arraigned and jailed on $1,000.00 bail.

Criminal mischief Tuesday or Wednesday of this week is under investigation by Ridgway PSP after someone in an unknown vehicle entered Sandy Beach in Fox Township .  Once on the premises, those involved drove across the softball field.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Ridgway PSP.

Theft on Tuesday or Wednesday is under investigation by Kane troopers after someone stole 15 bags of crushed aluminum cans from the Mount Jewett Veteran’s Memorial Club on East Main Street .  Those with additional information can contact PSP in Kane.

Ridgway based state police tell us they are investigating an incident of theft which occurred on Sunday or Monday of this week as someone removed an upper door from the driver’s side of a Jeep Wrangler owned by Joseph Gordon of Dubois.  Those involved then fled.  Anyone with additional information can contact PSP in Ridgway.

Theft from a Maple View Lane residence in Coudersport is under investigation by state police there after someone removed approximately $200.00 in cash from a cash box at Potter County Emergency Services.  The incident apparently occurred between July 24th and last Friday and anyone with information can contact Coudersport based state police.

Development of the land surrounding the Bradford Regional Airport has the eye of state government.  Construction of a multi-tenant, multi-acre facility could begin in 2 or 3 years according to those with the project.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a hit and run yesterday at East Branch Dam in Jones Township was investigated by Ridgway troopers after someone struck the rear fender on a 2003 Chevrolet Truck owned by Raymond Wheeler of Johnsonburg.

Criminal mischief at the St. Marys Wal-mart is being investigated by Ridgway PSP after a known 15 year old female reportedly scrapped the rear passenger side fender of a Ford Escort belonging to Jacob Defrain of Kersey.

Simple assault Monday in Harrison Township was responded to by Coudersport PSP after Benjamin Post, 22, was involved in an incident with 24 year old Angel Post.  The accused was charged with simple assault, harassment, and two violations under the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act.

Burglary in Liberty Township between Friday and Sunday is under investigation.  Kane PSP tell us someone entered D&D Stone, stealing several items.  Smoke bombs were also set off on a piece of heavy equipment.  Those with further information are asked to contact PSP.

Lisa Hanes of Genesee was the victim of an incident of criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking according to Coudersport troopers.  Between the 3rd and the 6th someone let the air out of the victim’s car tires and loosened the lugnuts.  A motion detector light fixture was also removed and her dogs were apparently let in and out of the victim’s home.  The investigation continues.

Theft and fraud between July 20th and the 24th is under investigation.  During that time someone purchased around $2,000.00 in items over the internet on a credit card belonging to Kimberly Eckenrode of Genesee.  Those with additional information can contact Coudersport PSP.

And Ridgway based state police are investigating a case of a missing person from Benezette.  According to their report, Patti Ross, 39, left her residence on May 4th, heading to Clarksville, PA.  She was last seen on the 7th in Clarksville.  Ross was last known to be driving a burgundy colored 1994 blazer when she left Benezette.  Those with additional information are asked to contact state police in Ridgway.

The death of a baby in Lewis Run on Tuesday is under investigation.  Kane based state police state that incident occurred in the morning hours.  An autopsy on the 8 month old baby girl is being conducted and no further information is available at this time.

Following many headaches, Bill Burleson was given the okay by the McKean County Planning Commission to build on the property he owns on North Main Street, known as Benton Place.  Part of the proposed building will be the home of a Dollar General, taking up 9,000 square feet.

Those traveling Bradford will apparently need to be aware of a speed change on High Street.  According to the Bradford Era, the limit on that street has now been set to 40MPH.  The change affects the section from the Bradford Township line to Minard Run Road.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…a Derrick City man was stopped along Route 246 Sunday morning.  Kane based state police stopped David Persichini, 20, to see if he needed assistance only to find he was intoxicated.  Charges are being filed.

A one vehicle crash along Route 219, 1 mile south of Lewis Run borough left a Westline man with moderate injuries.  Travis Bernhard, 20, was operating a 1996 Ford F-350 when PSP believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, sending his truck into a ditch.  The truck then traveled 75 yards through the ditch, where it struck an abutment at the intersection of a dirt road.  Bernhard then fled, later to be located in Lewis Run Borough.  Charges are pending.

A North Carolina woman was not injured in an accident along Route 219 Saturday evening.  Kane based state police investigated the accident where Dawn Willis, 38, was operating a 2002 GMC Yukon when she struck a deer.  Two passengers in the Willis vehicle were not injured.

Ridgway troopers investigated a speed related accident along SR 1006, which occurred Saturday morning around 1:00 .  Zachary Zelehoski, 21, of Johnsonburg was driving a 1995 Ford Thunderbird when he lost control of the car while attempting to avoid a deer.  The car left the roadway, struck a tree and came to rest.

Disorderly conduct yesterday morning in Emporium was investigated by state police there after 2 Emporium residents were involved in a verbal argument on East 6th Street .  According to the report issued, William Putt and Valerie Beck were cited after using excessive noise and obscene language.

Michael Richards, 18, and a known juvenile were also cited by Emporium PSP on Saturday for using obscene language and making too much noise around 6:00am .

Theft at the Bucktail Bar on Saturday is being investigated by Kane troopers after 3 patrons left the bar with a guitar and Miller High Life sign.  Those individuals escaped in an Extended Cab Chevrolet Silverado.

And attempted burglary in Bingham Township on Friday or Saturday is under investigation by Coudersport based PSP after someone attempted entry into a camp belonging to Jeffrey Gertzen of Harrison Valley.  During the crime, a window was broken.  Those with additional information can contact Coudersport PSP.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a hit and run is being investigated by Emporium troopers after someone hit Christopher Brown’s vehicle while it was parked at GKN plant 1 in Emporium yesterday afternoon.  Those with additional information can contact PSP in Emporium.

Kane based state police investigated a DUI related crash which occurred late yesterday.  The report issued states that Carl Bair, 42, of Warren was traveling north on Route 66 when he lost control of his 1990 Chevrolet Truck, sending it off the east side and into a tree.  Two passengers, Douglass Harkins and Michael Marshall, were both transported to Kane Community Hospital for treatment.  Charges are being filed.

Ridgway based PSP tell us Glenn Freeburg of Ridgway was the operator of a 1994 BMW Convertible involved in an accident last night along Route 948 in Fox Township .  Freeburg was traveling west when he lost control of the car while negotiating a curve.  The car spun backward across the eastbound lane, leaving the south side and hitting a tree.

A hit and run at the Westline ball field Wednesday evening is being investigated by Kane PSP after someone backed into a parked 1994 Ford Mustang belonging to James Hervatin of Lewis Run and then left the scene.

Criminal mischief in Shippen Township on the 1st or 2nd was investigated by Emporium troopers after someone placed aluminum nails in the driveway of Rexford Waddington III.  The nails were discovered after the victim ran over them and a vehicle tire had deflated.

No further details were released on the removal of cash from the office of Intech Metals in Ridgway.  State police there investigated.

Retail theft from the Lake View Hotel Store on July 31st was investigated after a known person filled his gas tank and drove off without paying.

Criminal mischief at the Irwin Run boat launch on July 29th was investigated by Ridgway PSP after someone damaged two windows in a vehicle belonging to Jennifer Provick of Boston , NY .

A former employee of Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems is filing a law suit regarding the death of Dustin Dembinski.  The death occurred May 23, 2004 at Heffner Reservoir.  Janel Riel is asking for more than $25,000 in response to the loss of income and the inability to be gainfully employed.

And a Smethport man was flown to an unknown hospital yesterday morning after being hit by a falling tree.  Around 11:30am the man, whose last name was reported to be Kelly, was feeding his dogs when he heard  the tree snap.  No additional information on the man’s condition or the hospital to which he was flown is known at this time.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…DUI this morning just before 3:30 has a Crosby man in trouble with Kane based state police.  Charles Miller Jr., 44, was stopped along Christian Hollow for a variety of traffic violations, when he was found to be DUI.

Underage drinking on Wednesday was investigated by Kane based state police after a 15 year old was found under the influence at the intersection of Route 219 and Westline Road in Lafayette Township .  Charges will be filed.

A one vehicle accident along the Potter Game Club Road in Eulalia Township was responded to by Coudersport based state police Monday morning.  Normal Hicks, 76, of Coudersport was operating a 1995 Chevrolet Pick-up south at an excessive speed when his truck slid sideways.  Trying to regain control, Hicks’ truck left the west berm and landed in a ditch before entering a marsh and getting stuck.

And the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is now involved in the two deaths in late July at Goodman Brothers Services.  An acting director from the Erie office stated that there is no time line for completion of the investigation and no details its standard for no details to be released until the investigation is completed.  The OSHA investigation stems from the death of Richard Jolly and Michael Coder July 20th while the pair were working on a truck at Goodman’s.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…several accidents were investigated by state police in our listening area.  A tractor trailer crash along Route 219 occurred yesterday morning.  Kane PSP tell us Jason Schultz, 35, of Hinsdale was operating a 2001 International Harvester.  While attempting to miss two deer in the roadway, the trailer flipped.  No charges were filed.

A one vehicle accident along Route 255 was responded to by Ridgway PSP yesterday morning.  According to their report, Scott Winslow, 42, of Weedville was driving a 1985 Ford F-250 when the rear tires locked up, causing the vehicle to bounce and impact a curb.  The truck then rolled onto its roof, coming to rest.  Winslow and a passenger, Darren Yanak, 40, also from Weedville escaped injury.

Kane based state police responded to a one vehicle accident yesterday around 8:00am after Stephanie Tseptalis, 19, of Smethport fell asleep behind the wheel of a 1997 Geo Metro near the Bradford Ranger Station.  Charges were filed and the operator escaped injury.

A Port Allegany man has been charged in connection with several burglaries there.  Kane based state police state that Kevin Barber, 26, has been charged after breaking into the Dudley residence along Strang Hollow Road in Liberty Township, along with several other residences in Liberty Township.  Barber was jailed after failing to post bail of $25,000.

Coudersport based state police continue their investigation into criminal mischief at the Convey residence on Maple Street in Roulette between July 8th and the 31st.  During that time someone removed several ornamental fence post tops.

Criminal mischief at the Bradley Tucker residence on the 30th or 31st is under investigation.  Coudersport PSP tell us someone damaged an inflatable pool belonging to the victim.  Darts were apparently used to do the damaged.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a hit and run in Elk County was investigated by Ridgway based state police yesterday.  According to the report issued, someone hit a 2003 Chevrolet Impala owned by William Knight of St. Marys while it was at the St. Marys Wal-mart between 9:00 and 11:24am .

Ridgway based state police are investigating a theft which occurred between July 28th and the 31st at a Route 219 construction site.  During that time someone entered a 2001 Freighliner owned by Green Acres Construction of Scottsdale, PA.  Once inside, 3 steel saws were removed.  Anyone with information on this crime should contact Ridgway PSP.

Jesse Recker of Emporium is the victim of an act of criminal mischief after someone cut Becker’s phone line on Sunday on Allegany Avenue in the borough.

Coudersport PSP assisted in an investigation along Dutton Hollow Road in Oswayo Township .  Around 2:30am a 15 year old  Wellsville teen drove a 1994 Ford Escort into Pennsylvania from New York , crashing the car along Dutton Hollow Road .  The driver and 18 year old Nathan McMurray then fled on foot before being apprehended by NY authorities.  Charges are pending.

Just hours ago Adelphia employees began answering the phones with a new greeting, as Adelphia dissolved and Time Warner and Comcast became part of the eastern U.S. workforce from Maine to Florida and beyond.  Over 100 will spend today signing up for unemployment, looking for new work or moving out of the area.

McKean Conuty DA John Pavlock is spending time since the investigation began into the June 30th train derailment in Gardeau, determining what charges may be filed against those responsible.  Excessive speed and improper handing of the train by the engineer and conductor has those people in trouble with Norfolk Southern.  Charges were filed by the company against the accused on July 3rd.

Students of the Smethport School District can expect to pay more for lunches this coming school year.  High School students will pay $1.40, while elementary students will pay $1.30 per lunch.  With one board member absent, the increased unanimously.  The increase should generate over $4,000 according to Business Manager Sue Jordan.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…a Coudersport teen received sever injuries following an ATV accident in Homer Township over the weekend.  State police from the Coudersport barracks tell us Devon Long, 19, was operating a 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 660 along Heith Road at a high rate of speed when Long apparently failed to negotiate a curve.  The ATV left the path Long was on, hitting South Woods Road with the front of the ATV as it rolled, landing on Long.  Long was taken to Charles Cole before being life-flighted to Altoona General.  The investigation continues.

DUI got a Sharon , PA man in trouble with Ridgway based PSP after Troy Cool, 37, was stopped along the Toby Road for an equipment violation and subsequently found to be DUI.  Cool was transported to Elk Regional for a BAC test.  Charges were filed.

Criminal mischief this morning was responded to by Kane troopers around 2:00am at Jenny L. Manor in Eldred.  The report issued states someone threw a rock at an apartment occupied by Albert Sargent.  The window was broken at a cost of $200.00.  Additional information on the incident can be phoned into the barracks in Kane.

Harassment Sunday in Coudersport left a Coudersport man charged after Drew Watson was involved in an argument with Tammy Calkins, also of Coudersport.  During the argument Watson grabbed the victim and forced her from his residence.  The investigation continues and charges were filed.

Criminal mischief at the St. Marys Wal-mart on Sunday is under investigation.  Ridgway based state police tell us someone damaged the rear driver’s side door on a 2005 Ford Taurus belonging to Patricia Wellde of Kersey.  Those with information on the incident are asked to contact state police.

A domestic dispute at the Hanes residence on the West Bingham Road in Genesee Township Saturday left both Warren Hanes and Lisa Hanes charged following the incident which occurred around 1:00pm .  Both persons told state police they were assaulted by the other.

Terroristic threats in Oswayo Friday morning is under investigation by Coudersport based state police after a known person sent death threats to an Oswayo woman and an Ely, NV man.

Kane based state police are investigating the theft of $150.00 in quarters and several vehicle titles along with 2 trailer titles from residences along Doyle Hollow Road in Liberty Township.  We’re told by PSP the incident occurred Friday.

The Federal Railroad Administration has determined the train traveling near the Sinnemahoning-Portage Creek are June 30th was going faster than the posted speed of 25 MPH.  The 44-car train was descending a 2.6% grade when 26 of the 44 cars derailed, splitting 3 of those cars, which spilled lye into a nearby creek.

The company which brought promise to a small nearby town for many no longer exists as of today.  Today is the day Time Warner and Comcast take over Adelphia, the ailing, bankrupt 6th largest cable provider in the United States .  $18 billion is involved in the sale, which will give severance packages to over 100, leaving another 200 on to work through final bankruptcy filings and such.  At the height of Adelphia’s success, over 2,000 were employed in Coudersport.

Checking PennDOT’s schedule for this week…ditch cleaning will be done on Route 219, Lewis Run and Sullivan Drive .  Seal coating is planned for Bridge Road , Campbelltown road and Lower Lindholm Road and hot patching is to be done on Route 321, Kane to Route 59, Hemlock Avenue and Campbelltown Road .

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…a one vehicle accident along Lindholm road in Hamlin Township yesterday morning left a Bradford woman with minor injuries.  Kane troopers state that Roberta Loveless was driving a 1990 Chrysler New Yorker when she lost control on a curve while traveling too fast.  The Loveless vehicle left the roadway and struck tree, causing moderate damage to the car.  A passenger, Kimberly Loveless, was not injured.

A hit and run Thursday morning along Route 219 around 2:00am was responded to by Ridgway PSP.  According to the report issued, Carrie Kline, 31, of Kersey was walking north while Robert Lindberg was operating a moped along the same berm.  Linderberg apparently hit Kline before getting back on the moped and leaving the scene.  Kline was taken to Kane Community Hospital for treatment.  Lindberg was later located at his residence and taken to  Elk Regional for treatment.  Charges are pending.

Smethport resident Tracy Holley, 40, was cited by Kane based state police after causing a public disturbance last evening along Route 6, Keating Township .  Alcohol was apparently involved.

The Randy and Lisa Hobbs residence in Port Allegany was illegally entered by someone yesterday between 1:00pm and 3:30pm as someone forced their way into the residence before removing 2 firearms.  The investigation continues by Kane PSP.

Coudersport based state police are investigating an incident which occurred on Wednesday or Thursday when unknown persons entered a shed belonging to James Barr of Roulette.  Removed from the building was 2 cases of beer and a case of whine coolers.  Those with additional information are asked to contact state police.

The scattering of rubbish along Fox Township Park in Elk County is under investigation by state police in Ridgway after the incident occurred on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

A Rimersburg, PA man was cited by Coudersport based state police Wednesday for resisting arrest.  Derick Fowler, 23,  was stopped along Route 6, just east of the PSP barracks on Denton Hill around 10:00pm when he fled on foot into a wooded area.  Later apprehended, Fowler was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and vehicle code violations.  Unable to post bail, Fowler was jailed.

Assault at the Roulette skate park on Wednesday is being investigated by Coudersport based state police after an unknown person shot a known 9 year old in the leg with a BB gun.

And criminal mischief on the B&P Railroad in Sergeant Township is under investigation.  Kane PSP tell us sometime on Sunday someone placed old railroad track pieces on the current track.  Those with additional information can contact Kane PSP.

A vehicle taken from the Bradford McDonalds on July 15th has been recovered after a trip through several states.  The car registered to Ronald Lattin of Bradford , was located in Georgia .  The occupants of the car were arrested during a stop in Georgia for speeding.

Talks are underway in nearby Cameron County to consolidate all municipal governments.  In what may be the first of its kind in the U.S. , the move by Cameron County may eliminate the need for duplicate services.

By citation presented by Representative Martin Causer, the Backus Company of Smethport was recently  honored by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for their 100th anniversary.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet according to our checks with state police in Coudersport, Kane, Ridgway and Emporium.  There were no related incidences to report either.

Kane based state police tell us criminal mischief at International Waxes in Farmers Valley between yesterday occurred around 6:45pm as someone cut a high voltage copper line behind the company.  Those with information on this incident are asked to contact state police.

Criminal mischief at the Duffy stone quarry between last Friday and Monday of this week is being investigated by Kane PSP after someone damaged around $1,400 in construction equipment and tools.

DUI by an Emporium man Sunday evening was investigated by state police there after they stopped Gene Lumley, 40 near the intersection of Route 120 and Sunny Lane in Shippen Township.

Burglary along Moore Hill Road in Emporium was investigated by PSP there after someone stole a digital camera and approximately $400.00 in quarters from the Patrick Laird residence.

A Driftwood man and an Emporium man were both charged after an incident at the Emporium Uni-mart on Friday.  Eric Rhinebolt, 18, of Driftwood and 24 year old Gary Pashong of Emporium were charged with criminal trespass and theft after entering the store under in influence of alcohol. Asked by an employee to leave, the two refused.  Several items were broken by the pair before they departed with items they hadn’t paid for.  Both were eventually arrested.  Rhinebolt was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, retail theft, public drunkenness and criminal mischief.  Pashong was cited for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, retail theft and public drunkenness.  Pashong was jailed in lieu of bail of $5,000.  Rhinebolt was released pending a hearing.

And theft at the Tom Mix Museum in Gibson Township on the 18th or 19th is under investigation.  Emporium based state police state that during that time, someone removed a large school bell.

Harassment within Potter County government has been settled.  According to a report by the Potter-Leader Enterprise, Commissioner Cathy Bowers discriminated against executive secretary Victoria Johnson over a 15-month period.  Bowers claimed there was no problem with Johnson.  Johnson resigned in September of 2005 and was paid $25,000 by the commissioners’ insurance carrier in mid-May of this year, according to the Potter-Leader report.

Drug busts in 4 cities in the Southern Tier of New York yesterday morning.  Twenty six were arrested in raids in Olean and Portville, in addition to Salamanca and Hinsdale.  An investigation over the past year lead to the arrest of 26, with 4 still being searched for.  Cattaraugus County DA Edward Sharkey stated that the arrests stemmed from the sale of Cocaine in Olean and Salamanca.

A fire earlier this week at SJS Creative Wood Design in Bradford has that business closed until clean-up can be completed.  According to owner Larry Yeager, upon his arrival Monday morning, fire was noticed in the area of the main processing room.  According to Yeager, an actual estimate on damage is expected next week.  No injuries were reported in the blaze which brought out 7 fire departments and 49 firefighters.

And a general insurance bid from the Sundahl Insurance Company of Bradford was accepted by the Smethport Borough council during their Wednesday afternoon meeting.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…state police in our listening area tell us all was quiet on area street and highways.  There were no related incidences to report either.

Coudersport based state police are investigating an incident of scattering of rubbish along Route 6, west of Potato City Inn on Sweden Township.  The incindent occurred around 2:00pm yesterday.

Burglary between the 20th and yesterday in Hamlin Township is being investigated by Kane troopers after someone broke into an unoccupied structure, taking various items including 2 tens, 6 folding tables and a small master lock.  Nearly $700.00 in 9itmes were removed according to PSP who are investigating.

Theft from a vehicle on property owned by Foster Wineland Inc. of Ridgway is being investigated by PSP in Ridgway after someone stole 2 floor mats between June 1st and Monday of this week.  Those with additional information can contact Ridgway PSP.

A Roulette man was cited by Coudersport based state police after photographing a Cyclone man while he was at work Monday morning.  State police state that Russell Brodhun, 37, took pictures of Russell Main at a stone quarry owned by Michael Onufry of Austin.  When Main confronted Brodhun, obscenities were exchanged before Brodhun retrieved a BB gun.  Main threw a rock at Brodhun’s vehicle as it left the scene.  He was charged with criminal mischief while Brodhun was cited for disorderly conduct.

Criminal mischief at the St. Marys Wal-mart on Saturday is being investigated by Ridgway based state police after someone used a red substance to write on a Serv-U trailer at that location.  Those with additional information can contact state police.

And false reports to law enforcement by a Ceres, NY woman was investigated by Coudersport based state police after Charity Safford, 18, told authorities she was raped.

Official acceptance of a position by McKean County is expected to be accepted by a Bradford woman today.  Mary Williams, a former Evergreen Elm employee, will become the McKean County Recycling Coordinator.  In other news, the sale of Sena Kean Manor should be finalized Monday of next week according to those close to the sale.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet according to our checks with state police in our listening area.  There were no related incidences to report either.

Harassment at an Austin residence on Sunday was responded to by Coudersport based state police around 9:00am .  The report issued states that Lori Dynda and Joseph Dynda of Austin were involved in a verbal disagreement at the Lori Dynda residence when the situation turned physical.  No further information was released by PSP.

And a Coudersport man has been charged for his involvement in a burglary in that town between Friday and Saturday of this past week at Erway’s Market.  State police from the Coudersport barracks state that Edward Mulzet, 40, entered the business, removing money and a firearm.  The investigation continues.

A former ambulance service owner was found not guilty following a hearing in Bradford yesterday morning.  During the half hour meeting between the accused and accusing parties, it was made clear that William McCormack sitting across from the Priority Care facility in Bradford was in no way a hazard of disturbance.  Therefore, no charges could or would be filed against McCormack for his actions.

The final steps in the emergence of Adelphia from Chapter 11 is now expected in the 4th quarter according to the Associated Press.  Bankruptcy was declared in 2002 before the company made the move to Greenwood Village, Colorado.  Part of the talks now include how to distribute funds from the sale among creditors and bondholders.

Barring any last minute changes, the change-over form Colgan air to RegionsAir is expected by the end of August.  RegionsAir will use Continental as their parent company, flying 34 seat Saab 340’s and using Cleveland as a hub.  Nearby Jamestown will also be serviced by the company through their Bradford contract.

No injuries were reported in a Bradford fire which swept through a business Monday morning.  Around 6:30am crews arrived at SJS Custom Wood Design to find flames causing some $75,000 in damage in the fire which was ruled electrical and accidental in nature.  A rekindle around 12:40 brought crews back on scene for about 30 minutes.

On the traffic and accident scene over the past weekend…A DUI related crash Saturday occurred along Route 6, just east of Lantz Corners.  Kane based state police tell us Andrew Harper, 35, of Washington , PA was operating a 2002 Dodge Dakota when he fell asleep at the wheel.  Charges are being filed.

A hit and run Friday afternoon was responded to by Coudersport based state police around 1:00pm .  Elizabeth Ketcham, 78, of Shinglehouse was the victim of the incident as someone driving a green 1980’s model Ford pickup drove off Wildcat Road , striking Ketcham’s mailbox.    Those with further information are asked to contact state police.

Burglary at a Brandy Camp Circle residence on Horton Township is being investigated.  Ridgway based state police tell us someone pried open a locked door on a building owned by Harold Gardner of Ridgway.  Once inside, a Craftsman tool set was removed.  Those with additional information are asked to contact state police.

Theft from the Buffalo and Pittsburgh railroad in Jones Township is under investigation by Ridgway PSP after someone cut copper wires from utility poles between the 19th and yesterday.  Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact state police.

Two males stopped 3 Kane residents and another person in the vicinity of James City early Saturday morning.  Impersonating officers, those involved asked to victims to step out of their vehicles before pointing guns at them.  Ridgway based state police are investigating.

Criminal mischief at a Mount Jewett residence was investigated by PSP there Saturday.  The report issued states that Jesse Lechien, 27, of Wilcox  removed tires from a garage belonging to Misty Kimble.  During the incident the actor also used a tire to intentionally damage a window of Kimble’s vehicle.

Disorderly conduct in Austin on Friday was investigated by Coudersport troopers around 6:45pm .  During the incident, Joseph Scott, 30, of Coudersport and 47 year old Ronda Youndt of Galeton were involved in a verbal dispute, causing a public disturbance.

Criminal mischief in Wilcox on Friday or Saturday is being investigated by Ridgway troopers after someone smashed the driver’s side window of a vehicle owned by Kelsie Bryington of Wilcox.

Burglary at Erway’s Market in Coudersport on the 21st or 22nd is under investigation by state police there.  During the crime someone gained entry through a shattered front door.  An unknown amount of cash and a semi-automatic pistol were then removed.

Burglary among Marsh Creek between July 16th and the 22nd is under investigation by Coudersport PSP after someone entered a barn owned by Brian Farleigh of Hazelton.

And PSP sobriety checkpoints will be conducted throughout McKean County this month by state police.

A stop by Governor Ed Rendell on Sunday in Bradford was for the presentation of a check for $600,000 to Werzalit of America for their recent acquisition and expansion following the purchase of GPF Strandwood of Hancock, MI.  Werzalit expects to expand the local workforce by 25 with the buy-out of the Michigan company.

Checking PennDOT’s schedule for this week in McKean County …ditch cleaning will be done on Route 321,Route 59 to Corydon, Christian Hollow and Sullivan Drive .  Bridge repairs will be made on SR 3009.  Seal coating will be done on Route 46, Crosby to Norwich and Columbia Hill.  And Hot patching will be done on Coontown, Hemlock Avenue and Campbelltown Road .

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet according to our checks with state police in our listening area.  There were no related incidences to report either.

An area business will be closed today and Saturday following the death of two area men at that business yesterday afternoon.  McKean County Coroner Mike Cahill pronounced Richard Jolly, 49, of Bradford and 37 year old Michael Coder of Lewis Run dead following an accident at Goodman Services.  Cahill stated that the exact cause of death and time would be released later.  Cahill also said the pair were unloaded scrap from a dump truck when the accident occurred around 4:15pm .  Apparently the two were checking on a problem with the dump bucket when it came down on both, hitting them in the head.

McKean County government has grown by two with the hiring of an HR representative and a watershed specialist.  Hired in HR was Heidi Boser of Bradford , who will assist the Director of Legal Affairs and HR, Michele Alfieri.  Heather McKean was hired as the watershed specialist.  The positions begin at $30,000 and $32,000 respectively.

The bi-annual Zippo/Case Auction brought in over 800 people from 40 states and over a dozen foreign countries.  Twenty pieces were purchased with the top bid of $7,000 for one item.  Over $50,000 was made from the auction.

Kanefest begins today with vendors having their items available at 4:00pm.  An opening ceremony is set for 6:00pm and Captain Jack is set to perform.  Activities continue Saturday with a 5K run at 9:00am and entertainment throughout the day.  WQRM will broadcast today from 7:00 to 10:00pm.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was reported quiet.  According to our checks with state police, there were no related incidences to report either.

Harassment charges were filed against a Harrison Valley Man after an incident Tuesday in that town.  Coudersport based state police tell us Dustin Skelton, 18, allegedly made lewd gestures toward Cassandra Gertzen, also of Harrison Valley .

A Galeton man and a Galeton woman have both been charged with harassment after an incident in Coudersport on the evening of the 18th.  Coudersport PSP tell us James Poklar and Jennifer Benjamin were involved in a verbal argument when Poklar struck Benjamin’s car with his hand, causing a small dent.  State police have also charged Poklar with criminal mischief.

Harassment between a different Poklar and Benjamin on Tuesday was investigated by Coudersport PSP.  According to the report given, around 6:45pm Randall Benjamin subjected Theresa Poklar to unwanted physical contact along Route 6 West.  A harassment charged was filed against Benjamin for the incident.

Burglary along Lent Hollow Road in Coudersport is being investigated by state police there after an incident between July 10th of last year and the 1st of this month.  During the crime, someone entered a camp belonging to Ernest Cunfer of Slatington , PA.   After entry through an unlocked basement door, a socket set and generator were removed.  Those involved then went to the next camp owned also by Cunfer and removed an anvil from a shed.  Those with information on this incident should contact PSP in Coudersport.

And the investigation into unauthorized use of a credit card continues by Ridgway based state police after someone used 3 credit cards belonging to Michael Curley of Kersey.

A fire in Corydon Township Sunday afternoon was ruled arson by the state police fire marshall .  The fire along Route 321 occurred at a camper trailer, whose owner was unknown as of late yesterday.  No injuries were reported in the incident which brought out 25 firefighters and had crews on the scene for about 90 minutes.

And a Punxsutawney soldier died in Iraq Monday from injuries sustained from the explosion of an improvised  explosive device went off 25 miles south of Baghdad .  Army Sergeant 1st Class Scott R. Smith was stationed at Fort Belvior, VA and was one of over 2,500 soldiers to die in combat since the Iraq war begin in March of 2003.

On the traffic and accident scene overnight and yesterday…all was quiet, according to our checks with state police in our listening area.  There were no related incidences to report either.

A Kersey man has been charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and simple assault for an incident Monday in Kersey.  Joseph Martell, 30, was apprehended at his home following the incident at Fairview Fuel just after 10:00pm.  According to state police from Ridgway who investigated, Martell entered the business, demanded money from the clerk, and exited.  After being apprehended, the accused was remanded to the Elk County jail on $55,000 cash bail.

Theft of a vehicle in Keating Township, McKean County is being investigated by Kane PSP after the incident on Monday or Tuesday.  Smethport resident Floyd Sturtevant told police during the reported time someone took a hunter green Honda Recon 250cc 4-wheeler from his property.  Those with additional information on the incident can contact Kane PSP.

And Kane based state police tell us someone took Nathan Booth’s wallet from his residence along Windfall Road on the 14th or 15th.  Those with additional information on this incident can contact the Kane barracks.

A child with an area connection, who died just over 2 weeks ago, apparently died after falling into a swimming pool in Apple Valley, CA.  Avery Lent, was found around 1:00pm on the 3rd according to the coroner involved in the case.

Charles Cole Memorial Hospital was given the medical contract for services at Otto-Eldred schools for the upcoming school year, with a small increase of last year’s rates.  The next board meeting is set for August 15th at the elementary School.

Senator Joe Scarnati will hold constituent hours Thursday in Lewis Run at their borough office from 10:00am to 11:00am.  He or one of his representatives will be available to speak with residents during that time.
